Making the announcement at a state-level event to mark Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti in Rohtak, Saini also declared a grant of Rs 31 lakh to the Vishwakarma Education Committee. Several ministers and senior BJP leaders, including Krishan Lal Panwar, Ranbir Gangwa, Arvind Sharma, OP Dhankhar, Ram Chander Jangra and Manish Grover, attended the event.
Saini further announced that Rs 22 crore will be released under the Mukhyamantri Vivaah Shagun Yojana by September 30 for the marriages of 4,200 daughters. “The women of the state will soon start getting an amount of Rs 2,100 per month,” he added.
Paying tribute to Lord Vishwakarma, Saini said, “This day is dedicated to honouring the hardworking and honest artisans who are shaping the nation’s progress with their dedication.”
He noted that artisans face challenges like high tool costs, changing designs, limited market access and lack of credit. “Recognising these issues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, which provides training with a daily stipend of Rs 500, tool kits, loans at nominal interest and support for branding, product verification and e-commerce access,” he explained.
The CM also visited an exhibition on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life, organised by the state Information and Public Relations Department.
Outstanding artisans were honoured on the occasion. Mahendra Kumar (Terracotta, Faridabad), Deepak (Wood & Bamboo, Kurukshetra), Shiv Kumar (Metal, Rewari) and Khemraj (Handloom, Panipat) received the first prize of Rs 3 lakh each. Surender Kumar (Painting, Rewari) and Kedar (Terracotta, Faridabad) were awarded second prize of Rs 51,000 each.
