Chandigarh, July 21

Haryana has become one of the top states in NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021. The state has been ranked third in the index.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the state was ranked sixth in the index released in January 2021, but this time, Haryana had climbed three places to join the top states.

India’s Innovation Index 2021 was released by Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog, Suman Bery. The India Innovation Index, prepared by NITI Aayog and the Institute of Competitiveness, is a comprehensive tool for evaluating and developing the country’s innovation ecosystem.

It ranks the states and union territories on their innovation performance to create a healthy competition among them.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament from Ambala Rattan Lal Kataria raised the issue of providing direct access to the Chandigarh international airport from the Chandigarh-Panchkula side.

The airport is located in Mohali and the state of Haryana is an equal partner in it. Residents of Panchkula have to travel over 25 km to board a flight from the airport, whereas its distance from Panchkula is only about 4-5 km.
