Stay away from poison of casteism on social media, Haryana ex-minister Captain Abhimanyu tells youth

Former Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu on Sunday advised the people, especially the youth, to stay away from the poison of casteism, which is being spread on social media and emphasised re-establishing the brotherhood of all 36 communities in Haryana.

He was addressing the gathering as a chief guest during a programme ‘Bhaichara Sneh Milan Samaroh’, organised at Tau Devi Lal BEd College, Manana village, in Samalkha on Sunday.

Citing the historical events of Panipat’s third war in 1761, Tamoor Lang’s attack on India in 1398 and several other incidents, Captain Abhimanyu said that the unity of all castes in the society has always created a history. Dividing society into casteism is not our culture, he added.

He further said that politics is right, but from where politics has led to burning each other’s houses and to spoil each other has come to Haryana. It was a culture of the Mughals where a son killed his father and his father killed his son. When we adopted that culture, he questioned. These were not a part of our culture and society, he added.

Taking a dig at the corruption and slip system in providing government jobs, former finance minister Captain Abhimanyu took a scathing attack on Congress and former Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda, without taking the name of any leader or party. He further said that some people were saying that they were giving slips and their slips were taken, and they are talking about giving a job on slips in the future.

Captain Abhimanyu questioned whether providing jobs on slips was right, then why were those people, who were giving slips and taking slips for jobs, sent by the former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala?

Captain Abhimanyu also expressed concerns over growing casteism and abusive language on social media platforms. He further said that a dirty culture has emerged on social media these days, where people use abusive language toward each other. Some so-called big people appeared on television and gave lectures regarding DNA, even though they have never studied genetics; some people gave lectures on history, but they never studied history.

Advising the youth to stay away from such elements, Captain said that if you engage with such people, your own speech and character will be spoiled. He also appealed to them not to get dragged into such filth. He further said that only talking is the solution for every problem, just talk to each other peacefully and pleasantly to maintain the brotherhood, which was the actual identity of Haryana.

Captain Abhimanyu appealed to all the people to maintain the unity of all 36 communities again and also sought support from the people to re-establish the brotherhood of Haryana’s 36 communities and to strengthen the unity of the entire society.
