Student selected in placement drive

Hisar: A student of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, has been selected in the e-campus placement drive of Bangalore-based Intellipaat Private Limited organised by the training & placement cell of the university. Prof Baldev Raj Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the selected student and wished her the best for a bright future. Dr Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director, said nearly 75 students from MTech, BTech, MSc, MCom and MBA courses had applied for job during the drive. After the online technical test followed by the technical interviews, one student got selected with the salary package of Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum.

NDRI scientist awarded

Karnal: The National Academy of Veterinary Science Young Scientist Award was given to Dr Sachin Kumar, scientist (senior scale), Animal Nutrition Division, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, in a programme held in Nagpur. The award was presented by Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in the presence of Purshotam Rupala, Union Cabinet Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. Dr Kumar received this honour for his remarkable contributions to the field of veterinary science.

Extension lecture organised

Yamunanagar: An extension lecture was organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education of Guru Nanak Khalsa College on the occasion of International Olympics Day. College principal Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang said that on this occasion, keynote speaker was Parminder Singh Sidhu alias Pummy, retired Deputy Director from the Directorate of Sports and Youth, Haryana. The keynote speaker said the youth should be attracted towards sports. On the occasion, Dr Amrita Pritam, head of the department, welcomed the keynote speaker, teachers and students.
