The 20th two-day annual sports competition at JCD Vidyapeeth was formally inaugurated by Padma Shri and Dronacharya Awardee, Sunil Dabas, the National Women's Kabaddi Coach, gracing the event as the chief guest on Friday.
The ceremony was presided over by Jai Prakash, director general of JCD Vidyapeeth. Ishwar Singh Malik from Chaudhary Devi Lal University attended as the distinguished guest. The event commenced with the chief guest hoisting the flag, officially marking the beginning of the sports meet. Following this, the players showcased an impressive march-past, where various teams and houses demonstrated discipline and enthusiasm.
Dabas encouraged all the participants and said that JCD Vidyapeeth is not only a leader in education but is also setting new records in sports. She added that today, Indian girls are making the country proud on international platforms, proving that they are just as capable as boys in any field.
Emphasising the importance of sports, the chief guest stated that sports are not just about winning medals but are a powerful way to build character. The key to success is hard work, and students should make hard work their ideal. She concluded by saying that consistent practice, discipline and dedication takes an athlete to the top. Also present were Jyoti Yadav and Rajesh Sehwag, assistant professors at Dronacharya Government College, Gurugram, who joined the event as special guests.
