This year, Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya are the theme states and their distinctive handicrafts, handlooms, folk traditions and regional cuisines will be showcased at the fair. While Egypt, the partner nation, will add a strong international flavour through its craft displays and cultural performances. The fair brings together thousands of artisans and performers, turning the Aravalli foothills into a vibrant global marketplace.

“Every year we strive to make the fair more grand than the last edition. We expect more footfall and business this time. We will be showcasing some unique stalls. The fair authorities are ensuring complete convenience for visitors and artisans, and the local administration and Faridabad police is working to make the experience hassle free,” said one of the officials of the Toursim Department.

The fairgrounds are open daily from around 10 am to 8 pm, featuring state-wise craft pavilions, artisan stalls and live demonstrations. Visitors can browse an extensive range of traditional products, including pottery, woodwork, hand-woven textiles, jewellery, prints and home décor, each reflecting the unique heritage and craftsmanship of different regions.

Cultural chaupals and open-air stages come alive with folk dances, music and traditional performances throughout the day, while food courts offer a diverse spread of Indian regional delicacies alongside select international flavours. The mela provides a rare opportunity to witness the living traditions of multiple communities in one space — from artistic expression to culinary experiences and live entertainment.

Organised by Haryana Tourism, in collaboration with Union ministries and cultural organisations, the Surajkund Mela continues its decades-old legacy of preserving traditional art forms, empowering artisans through direct market access and remaining a must-visit destination for art lovers, tourists and families during the early weeks of February.
