A special court for SC/ST Act, POCSO and crime against women of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Poonam Suneja has awarded five-year jail term to Sanjeev Kumar, teacher at a government school in Siwan block, for molesting a student. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the convict. Lokender Singh, Superintendent of Police, Kaithal, said on October 24, 2017, the Siwan police had registered a case on the complaint of a student of Class XII against an English teacher. She had alleged that the teacher used to write obscene comments in her copy, molest and harass her in the classroom. — TNS
