Kurukshetra, September 28

Kesni Anand Arora, Assistant Chief Secretary (ACS), Revenue, on Friday said the Thanesar block in the district would be developed as a model of organic farming.

After inaugurating a sale counter of organic produces at Sector 7, Arora said Thanesar was adopted on the directions of the chief minister to boost chemical-free farming.

She said the outlet would ensure profitability to farmers.

Maximum mini solid waste management plants would be constructed and collective efforts would be made to make Thansesar an open defecation free (ODF) city, she stated.

Arora said the city had immense scope to boost tourism, which would further create numerous direct and indirect job opportunities.

Earlier, she distributed loan cheques worth Rs 1.04 crore to 50 applicants at a function at the Mini Secretariat here.
