The Kurukshetra police have arrested three drug peddlers in two separate cases and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per the police spokesman, the CIA-1 unit of the Kurukshetra police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered 256-gram of heroin on Monday. The accused was identified as Charanjeet Singh, a resident of Kurukshetra.
The spokesman said following a tip-off that Charanjeet Singh was on his way on a two-wheeler and was carrying a huge quantity of heroin. A check post was established near Garhi Langri bus stop road. During checking, the accused was spotted and 256-gram of heroin was recovered from his possession. The market value of the seized narcotics is Rs 25 lakhs. A case has been registered under the NDPS act at the Sadar Pehowa police station.
In another case, the Anti-narcotics Cell of the Kurukshetra police arrested Deepak Kumar and Raj, of Kurukshetra, and recovered 7.43-gram heroin from their possession on Tuesday.
The police spokesman said that following an input, a team was deputed near Lakshman colony to catch the drug peddlers, who were on their way towards the Sheikh Chilli’s Tomb. The accused were spotted and during checking 7.43-gram heroin was recovered. A case has been registered at the Krishna Gate police station.
