According to information, the MCYJ has purchased a new small sweeping machine at a cost of Rs 31.50 lakh and an earthmoving machine at a cost of Rs 28.67 lakh.

Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani flagged off these two vehicles in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad and Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar.

On the occasion, the Mayor said that the MCYJ was continuously strengthening the city’s sanitation system. “The introduction of small sweeping machine will allow mechanical cleaning in areas previously inaccessible to larger machines. This will make the sanitation system more effective and provide a cleaner environment for residents,” said Bahamani. She added that mechanical cleaning would ensure better disposal of dust and waste, thereby reducing pollution.

Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad said the new small sweeping machine had been purchased specifically for narrow roads and colony lanes.

“The machine will clean various areas of the twin cities daily according to a fixed route. The addition of the new earthmoving machine will speed up drain cleaning, debris removal, and other construction work. This will further increase the corporation’s efficiency,” said Parsad.

Arora said that due to the efforts of the triple engine government, development and cleanliness works were being carried out rapidly in the twin cities. He said cleanliness was not the responsibility of any one department, but of all citizens. “People should cooperate with the municipal corporation in maintaining cleanliness,” said Arora.

Dheeraj Kumar said the addition of these new vehicles would bring qualitative improvement in the city’s sanitation system.

He said this was a positive step by the municipal corporation towards keeping the twin cities clean. Municipal Councillor Sunaina Sharma, Chief Sanitation Inspector Vinod Beniwal, Sanitation Inspector Satbir Singh and other persons were present on the occasion.
