Two held for snatching mobile using fake pistol in Haryana'sAmbala
Accused produced in court; sent to judicial custody
The Ambala police have arrested two accused for snatching a mobile phone, using a fake pistol, under the jurisdiction of the Parao police station.
The accused were identified as Suraj and Naveen Kumar, residents of Ambala Cantonment. The accused were produced before a court, which sent them to judicial custody.
As per the Ambala police spokesman, Mohit, a resident of Ambala, in his complaint at the Parao police station stated that on February 7, two unidentified two-wheeler borne individuals threatened and intimidated his brother with a pistol-like weapon, and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing.
Following the complaint, a case was registered and raids were conducted in which both accused were arrested. The police have also recovered the fake pistol and the two-wheeler used in the crime, and the snatched mobile.
SHO Parao police station Inspector Dharambir said, “The accused had stopped the victim on the pretext of asking direction and soon after, they showed him a fake pistol to threaten him. Later, they fled away with a mobile. There was already a snatching case registered against Naveen in 2016 at the Parao police station, in which he was sentenced to five years of imprisonment.”
