Two held with five stolen bikes

A team of Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell has arrested two persons and recovered five stolen two-wheelers from their possession.

Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesman, said the accused had been identified as Neeraj, alias Girdhari, and Vinay Kumar, alias Chhotu, both residents of Hadauli village in Yamunanagar district.

The accused were today produced before a Jagadhri court, which sent them to judicial custody.

Rajesh Kumar, incharge of the Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell, said that his team received information that two persons would go to Uttar Pradesh via Pansara village in Yamunanagar district on a stolen Activa.

A police team set up a naka and began checking vehicles. “After some time, two persons were seen arriving on an Activa. On checking, it was found that the Activa they were riding was stolen,” said Rajesh Kumar. The accused were identified as Neeraj, alias Girdhari, and Vinay Kumar, alias Chhotu, both residents of Hadauli village.

He added that the accused had stolen the Activa from the New Hamida Colony under the Yamunanagar City police station area on January 18. Four more stolen bikes were also recovered from the accused.
