Two labourers die in Narnaul cattle feed shop fire

Mahendragarh, February 29

Two labourers died and one was injured when a fire broke out in a cattle feed shop at the grain market in Narnaul town here on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Ram Dukhit (45) of Bihar and Kuldeep (33) of Kotputli (Rajasthan). Another labourer, Mahesh, sustained serious burn injuries in the incident because of which he was referred to the PGIMS in Rohtak. The police were holding an investigation to find out the exact cause behind the incident. No case was registered till the filing of the report.

Five labourers were sleeping inside the shop when the fire broke out. While two of them woke up and managed to run out of the shop, three others were stuck inside. The duo then informed the shop owner and the police.

Fire tenders were pressed into service which took several hours to douse the flames. The three victims were taken to civil hospital in Narnaul where two of them were declared brought dead, said the police.

The bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Civil Hospital for a post-mortem.
