Two accused Yuvraj, hailing from Jhunjhunu, and Vikas, a resident of Churu, in Rajasthan have been nabbed in connection with the case. Naveen Kumar, Inspector

Inspector Naveen Kumar, in-charge, Cybercrime station, said that two accused identified as Yuvraj, hailing from Jhunjunu, and Vikas, a resident of Churu district of Rajasthan, have been nabbed in connection with the case registered last month.

The complainant Ankit, a resident of Khail Kalan Mohalla, lodged a complaint that he posted his profile for marriage on jeevansathi.com, a matrimonial site.

On November 10, 2023, he received a request from a girl named Ridhi Sharma. On accepting the request, they exchanged their contact details and started talking on WhatsApp. It was revealed that the girl suggested him to start online crypto trading on the Dune Coin VIP website.

It was reported that he fell into their trap and transferred around Rs 55 lakh from his account to various accounts shared by the fraudsters.

Though he received an amount of Rs 1 lakh on January 3, his account on Dune Coin VIP website was closed soon after that, making him suspicious. Cyber Cell Sub Inspector Sandeep Kumar arrested one accused, identified as Mohammed Kasim, a resident of Shahjahanpur in UP, on January 30.

His interrogation revealed the involvement of two others, who were nabbed by the police on February 6.

Two mobile phones, a bank passbook, a cheque book and an ATM card used in the crime have been recovered from the accused.

The accused were remanded to judicial custody today.
