Two officials caught taking bribe in Kaithal

A team from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ambala, today arrested two officials of the Department of Cooperation, Kaithal, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. The accused have been identified as Assistant Registrar Rishi Kumar and Inspector Jasbir Singh. The team laid a trap and caught them red-handed.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Anti-Corruption Bureau police station in Ambala. A complaint was filed by Mange Ram, a resident of Padla village, who said the officials had demanded Rs 1,00,000 in exchange for getting his grandson a job at the Cooperation Department. He alleged that he had already paid the officials Rs 70,000 and they were demanding the remaining Rs 30,000. “The team laid a trap and the accused were caught accepting the bribe in the presence of an independent witnesses,” said an official.
