UGC nod to 14 programmes at CDLU

SIRSA: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, permission to offer 14 distance education programmes from this academic year.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, permission to offer 14 distance education programmes from this academic year.

Earlier this year, the UGC had granted permission for one course only — Bachelor of Arts (BA). The development comes after the University Centre for Distance Education (UCDL) of Chaudhary Devi Lal University fulfilled the necessary requirements for approval of the 13 courses.

CDLU Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Kayat confirmed the permission granted by the UGC.

He said now all 19 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university have been recognised by UGC. These courses are BA, BCA, Bachelor of Mass Communication, B Com, M Sc (computer science), MA in Mass Communication, education, history, English, Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit, M Com, MBA, MCA, PG Diploma in Business Administration, PG Diploma in Computer Applications and PG Diploma in Mass Communication and Diploma in Computer Science and Technology.
