University teachers on mass leave tomorrow

To protest staff hiring through HPSC, HSSC

Rohtak, November 24

An online meeting of office-bearers of the teachers’ associations of state universities on Wednesday announced to go on mass leave on Friday to register their protest against the staff recruitment through the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC).

Vikas Siwach, president, MDU Teachers’ Association, said they don’t want to cause any inconvenience to the students hence the routine work would continue as usual. “The decision is an attack on the autonomy of the state universities hence we will continue to oppose it. We staged a symbolic dharna at all universities from November 18 to 23. But the government didn’t pay any heed, forcing us to go on mass leave. — TNS
