The administration of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, has recommended promotion of 112 teachers from the government-aided colleges affiliated with the university under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), covering cases up to December 2024.
The promotion cases evaluated by the screening-cum-evaluation /selection committee includes those of 37 professors, 10 associate professors and 65 assistant professors. As per a statement issued by the MDU administration on Friday, this marks the highest number of faculty promotions processed in a single phase by the university till date.
The recommendations made by the committee will now be forwarded to the Director of Higher Education, Haryana, for the final approval. “Once the necessary approvals are received, the promotion details will be officially communicated to the principals of the respective affiliated colleges, followed by the issuance of promotion letters,” the statement added.
Highlighting the university’s commitment to streamlining the promotion process while heading a meeting with the members of the committee and senior university officials, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said a Standard Operating Procedure will be drafted to institutionalise the process.
“This would facilitate the evaluation of promotion cases twice a year, specifically by June 30 and December 31 with a structured timeline, ensuring the completion of evaluations within three months of submission of the case by the teacher,” he added.
