A heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh has led to a sudden rise in water level of seasonal rivulets Som and Pathrala, also submerging paddy, sugarcane and fodder crops in several villages situated on the banks of these rivers in Yamunanagar district.
The Pathrala river overflowed and water entered Government Middle School at Raipur Damauli village which is situated on the banks of the river.
On July 28, water level in the Yamuna had reached 6.05 lakh cusecs following incessant rainfall in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. — TNS
