Ajay Chautala, who has been expelled from the primary membership of the INLD, has expressed surprise at the party leadership’s decision, as he said he had not been told about his fault.

“Dushyant (Ajay’s son, who is an MP from Hisar) was expelled on the charge that he was behind the incident of hooting that took place in the Gohana rally last month. But why I have been expelled? What is the allegation against me?” he said while addressing his supporters in Jagadhri on Wednesday.

“I have never misbehaved with any party worker nor charged with indiscipline,” Ajay said.

In Ambala for another meeting, he challenged the party leadership’s decision. “Who gave them the authority (to expel me)? Neither they nor I have this authority, This party was founded by my signature,” he said.

To a query, he said, “When Chautala saab had signed the letter regarding my expulsion on November 12, why it wasn’t shown to me the same day. Were they hatching a conspiracy? At least give me a notice or adopt a democratic procedure.”

On the murmurs of forming a new party, he said, “We will disclose it on November 17 (at the Jind rally).”

Later, he told the media he would not contest his expulsion. “It is up to my supporters to decide whether or not to challenge my expulsion from the INLD. The decision will be taken after the Jind rally after consulting my supporters,” the former MLA said.

Dr KC Bangar, former chairperson of the Haryana Public Service Commission, said: “I have been an INLD worker for 44 years and I have been called a bikau (venal). It would have been better if I was shot dead. These people have been trying to capture the party.”

Bangar announced to resign from the INLD. He was the national spokesman for the party. A large number of leaders and party workers from Ambala also resigned from the party.
