AS the Assembly elections in Haryana approach, politicians have started putting up flex banners on power poles. Party workers have practically covered almost every pole in the city with some banner or the other and these have become an eye sore for residents. Putting up these posters or banners is illegal. The authorities concerned should take necessary action against the violators under the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act. Such hoardings are placed strategically, which can be a source of distraction and lead to accidents, hence, must be removed.

Potholes on Gurugram road
MANY potholes have developed on the T-point near Sector 46 in Gurugram. Even after a short spell of rain, water accumulates in these potholes, making it hard for commuters who are unaware of the depth of the potholes, to cross the stretch. Surprisingly, despite thousands plying the route daily, they have turned a blind eye towards the problem. The lack of supervision by officials of the local administration is to blame for the situation. Gurugram, popularly known as the cyber city, generates enough revenue to get the city’s roads repaired, but where this revenue is going is questionable. The silence of the GMDA is baffling. The local administration must get the city’s roads repaired as soon as possible.
