Yamunanagar DC, SP address residents’ issues at janta darbar

Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Preeti and Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal, along with other officials, heard and addressed residents’ issues during a janta darbar and night stay programme held at the Government Senior Secondary School, Rapauli, which falls in the Saraswati Nagar block of the district.

During the janta darbar, Mintu of Katarwali village complained about not being able to get an eye medical exam done, while Malkit Singh of Rajpura said he wanted to get the family identity card separated. Prem Singh of Kabulpur said he was unable to get an electricity connection and Titu Ram of Rapauli asked for help to covert his kutcha house into a pucca one. Sulesh Sharma of Saran asked for assistance in laying a drain pipe.

Shivram of Rapauli said he wanted to get a drain constructed, while Jagindro Devi of Saraswati Nagar complained about not being able to build a pucca house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). Surender Kumar of Jamalpur village asked for help in getting a ration card made. Rajinder Kumar, Aarti Devi, Narma, Jagmal and a number of other Rapuali residents complained about not getting benefits under the PMAY-G.

During the darbar, the DC approved the widow pension of Rekha Rani of Sabalpur, the old-age pension of Labh Singh of Saran and the unmarried pension of Dinesh Kumar of Saraswati Nagar.

The department also reinstated the Ladli pension of Ami Chand of Rapauli. DC Preeti said the administration had reached out to address the problems of villagers. “Issues raised by people that could be resolved on the spot were resolved immediately. The remaining issues would be considered and resolved this week, while those related to the budget would be resolved in a timely manner,” she said.

The DC also appealed to parents to encourage children who had dropped out of school after 10th grade to take up education again. Emphasising women’s education, SP Goyal said girls must receive higher education so they can set their own goals in life. Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja, IAS Suman Yadav, Radaur SDM Narender Kumar, Zila Parishad Deputy CEO Jaswinder Singh, DSP Ashish Chaudhary, DDPO Narender Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Jitender Singh, DPRO Dr Manoj Kumar, Roadways GM Sanjay Rawal, BDPO Shyam Lal, Rapauli sarpanch Kabul Singh and other officers were in attendance for the programme.
