The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhari (MCYJ), has become number one in the state in citizen feedback being taken for the Swachh survey.

As many as 5,929 people have so far given their feedback here. The feedback of the citizens is being taken through Swachhata App, Swachh Bharat Mission portal and scanner to know the opinion of the people about cleanliness in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.

Ayush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner, said the MCYJ teams were going door to door, visiting educational institutions and making people aware about the citizen feedback.

He said apart from this, the citizens themselves were also supporting the MCYJ.

He further said during the feedback being taken online on the site of the Swachh Bharat Mission, different questions were being asked to the citizens related to cleanliness.

“The citizens are cooperating in giving the feedback. Due to this, the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhari, has become first in the state in citizen feedback with 5,929 feedbacks. Now, Karnal is in second place with 5,745 feedbacks. The process of the citizen feedback is still going on,” said Sinha.

He appealed to every citizen of the twin cities to give citizen feedback. As per available information, a team led by Chief Sanitary Inspector Harjeet Singh is working in Zone-I and the other team led by Chief Sanitary Inspector Sunil Dutt is working in Zone-II under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav to get a better rank in the Swachh Survekshan.

Self-help groups, Sakshams and staff members of the MCYJ are making the residents aware for giving citizen feedback.

“Awareness programmes are also being conducted at various educational institutes, religious places and other places to make people aware about the Swachh survey and to give citizen feedback,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav.

As per available information, a team of the MCYJ on Wednesday went to Ward 16 and promoted cleanliness among women.

Sanitary Inspector Sushil Kumar, Brand Ambassador of the MCYJ, Shashi Gupta and other officials of the MCYJ motivated women not to throw garbage in the open, separate dry and wet garbage and put it in the vehicle of the MCYJ.

The women were also asked to prepare compost from kitchen waste and gardening waste. Besides, they were told to make bags from old clothes.
