Mayor Suman Bahamani inspected the renovation and beautification work of Bhagwan Parshuram park in Yamunanagar.

She along with market committee chairman Rakesh Tyagi, Assistant Engineer of the municipal corporation Surender Dahiya, municipal councillor Ruchi Kamboj and Junior Engineer Abhishek Sharma took stock of the progress of the ongoing development works at the park and instructed the officials not to compromise on quality.

The Mayor said the municipal corporation was renovating and beautifying Lord Parshuram Park at a cost of Rs 12.51 lakh.

“Parks provide a clean, safe and beautiful environment for citizens. Therefore, the development of parks is a priority for the municipal corporation,” said Mayor Suman Bahamani.

During the inspection, the Mayor reviewed various projects being undertaken at the park.

She said the construction of canopies, pathways, new benches, swings for children, tree planting to enhance greenery and improved lighting systems were being undertaken to provide better amenities to morning and evening walkers, children and the elderly.

She directed the officials to ensure that the work was completed within the deadline and special attention was paid to the quality of construction materials.

She said the parks were not only places of recreation, but were also integral to the people’s health and social life.

“The MC strives to improve public spaces in every ward so that citizens can enjoy a clean and safe environment around them,” the Mayor said. He said the municipal corporation was continuously carrying out various development works to make the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri clean and beautiful.

Tyagi said Lord Parshuram park was an important public space for the area’s residents.

“Its renovation will provide improved facilities and significantly enhance the park’s beauty,” said Tyagi.

Social worker Ankit Kapil said the municipal corporation was developing the park beautifully and soon, residents would have the opportunity to walk and exercise in a more beautiful space.

Assistant Engineer Surender Dahiya and Junior Engineer Abhishek Sharma said the park’s renovation work was progressing rapidly according to the planned schedule.
