Yamunanagar Mayor lays stone for Rs 81.96L development works

Yamunanagar Mayor Suman Bahamani on Friday laid the foundation stone of various development projects costing Rs 81.96 lakh in Ward 18 of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ).

Municipal Councillor Ujjwal Thakur and officials of the MCYJ were present on the occasion. The Mayor said the MCYJ was carrying out development works equally in all wards of the twin cities Yamunangar and Jagadhri to provide better basic amenities to the citizens.

She added that several roads would be constructed at Aurangabad village falling under Ward 18 at a cost of about Rs 49.50 lakh, which would provide significant relief to the residents in commuting.

“Development works have been prioritised at Ishopur village also. Various roads will be constructed in this village at a cost of Rs 10.25 lakh, while construction work of a building will be done at a cost of Rs 22.21 lakh,” the Mayor said.

She further said that on completion of these projects, the area’s infrastructure would be strengthened and better amenities would be available to the people. “The goal of the Municipal Corporation is not only to carry out development works, but also to ensure its quality and timeliness,” the Mayor said.

She instructed the officials to ensure no compromises on quality in construction projects and to complete tasks within the stipulated time frame.

She said under the guidance of the state government, continuous efforts were being made to make Yamunanagar and Jagadhri developed and modern cities. “Similar development work will continue in various areas of the twin cities in future also,” the Mayor said.

Municipal Councillor Ujjwal Thakur expressed his gratitude to the Mayor and officials of the MCYJ, saying that these works would resolve long-standing problems in the area. Assistant Engineer Rajesh Sharma, Junior Engineer Arvind Kumar and other persons were present on the occasion.
