Youth Congress to gherao HPSC office on Feb 17: Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda
Seeks cancellation of PGT exam, removal of service commission chief
Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda on Monday accused the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) of functioning as a “rejection commission” rather than a selection body and alleged that the rights of Haryana’s youth were being violated.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Deepender said the ongoing protest outside the HPSC office in Panchkula reflected widespread anger among aspirants. He announced that the Youth Congress would gherao the HPSC office in Panchkula on February 17 and appealed to youth across the state to join the protest in large numbers.
“The Haryana Public Services Commission is acting as a rejection commission for Haryana youth, instead of being a selection body. The rights of Haryana youth are being violated and this is the reason for the ongoing protest outside the HPSC office in Panchkula,” he said.
Alleging irregularities in recruitments, Hooda said the state government and HPSC were favouring candidates from outside Haryana. “Just as the Haryana Government is being run remotely from Delhi, the control of jobs is also being exercised from outside, as most of the selections are going to outsiders,” he alleged.
He further claimed that Haryana youth excel in national-level exams but face disqualification in state-level recruitments. “Haryana youth top UPSC, IIT, NET, JRF, and other major competitive exams, yet the HPSC is disqualifying them in its own exams as part of a deliberate conspiracy,” he said.
Raising concerns over the recently declared PGT Computer Science results, Hooda said out of 1,711 posts, only 39 candidates had cleared the exam while the rest were disqualified. He demanded that the PGT Computer Science examination be immediately cancelled.
He also sought the removal of the HPSC chairman and appointment of a “capable Haryana resident” to the post. Additionally, he demanded that the Commission release all pending selection lists and that the government issue a white paper detailing the number of Haryana residents and outsiders selected in recruitment exams over the past 11-and-a-half years.
Hooda said he would raise the issue in Parliament, the Assembly, and on the streets if required. He also spoke with protesting youth in Panchkula over the phone and extended his support to their agitation.
MP Varun Chaudhary, MP Satpal Brahmachari, MLA Maman Khan and Youth Congress president Nishit Kataria were among those present at the press conference.
