A Class X student of a private school in Yamunanagar was kidnapped by a youth from near school on Friday and allegedly sexually abused.

The accused, Sunny Kumar (20), stays in the same colony as the victim. On a complaint by the mother of the victim, a case was registered against him at City police station, Yamunanagar, on Saturday.

The complainant stated that her daughter (15) goes to school by an auto-rickshaw and returns home by 2.15 pm every day. But she didn’t return home on time on Friday.

“The auto-rickshaw driver told me that he waited for her at the school gate for long, but she didn’t turn up. We searched for her at the school and other places. A resident of our colony later told us that she is sitting near the cremation ground,” the complainant said. She added, “We brought the girl home. She was weeping and scared.”

The complainant said that her daughter told them that Sunny was standing near her school when she reached there by the auto-rickshaw on Friday morning.

She alleged that he forcibly made her sit on his scooter and took her to a deserted house at an unknown place and sexually abused her. After committing the crime, he left her near the cremation ground. “My daughter told me that Sunny had been harassing her for two or three days,” she said.
