Dharamsala, March 25

The BJP will launch the ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’campaign in the hill state.

Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, vice-president of the state BJP Kirpal Parmar said on March 31, the BJP would launch the campaign. The party would hold meetings at various places in Kangra and other places as part of the campaign.

Parmar said during the 2014 parliamentary elections, the Congress had flayed Narendra Modi for being a tea seller. At that time, Modi had started ‘Chai pe charcha’ programme, which was a success. Now ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign would also be a great success.

On fielding minister Kishan Kapoor from Kangra, Parmar said it was a matter of pride for the Gaddis as it was for the first time that any mainstream party had fielded a candidate from this community in the parliamentary poll.

He said the BJP was seeking votes in the name of Narendra Modi and work he had done for the development of the country in the last five years.

Parmar alleged that the Congress was in disarray in the state. Most of its senior leaders were not coming forward to contest the elections. The party was finding it hard to find candidates.

Parmar, however, refused to comment on former Union minister Sukh Ram rejoining the Congress. — TNS
