‘Sewa Saptah’ to mark PM Modi’s birthday

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh BJP has decided to observe birth week of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Sewa Saptah” (Service Week) and organise blood donation camps on September 17, his birthday.

The Himachal Pradesh BJP has decided to observe birth week of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Sewa Saptah” (Service Week) and organise blood donation camps on September 17, his birthday.

The state office-bearers of the party, who met here on Saturday, decided that activities such as blood tests and eye check-ups would be undertaken. Fruits would be distributed to patients in hospitals. During the week, that is from September 14 to 20, awareness campaigns would be launched in schools and colleges to encourage water conservation and abandoning the use of recycled polybags.

All members of Parliament, MLAs, office-bearers and representatives of urban local bodies and panchayati raj institutions would participate in the twin campaigns, said BJP vice chief Ganesh Dutt. — TNS
