Himachal Pradesh University's 17 biotechnology pupils shine in national scholarship exam

Seventeen students from the Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, have qualified for national scholarships. Among the students who received scholarships are Abhishek Bharti (ICMR-JRF), Ajay Kumar Acharya (UGC-NET JRF and ICMR-JRF), Ayush Srivastava (CSIR-JRF), Ambeesh Kumar Rolta (CSIR-JRF, GATE), Deepshikha Rauniyar (DBT-JRF, GATE), Kumar Sumeet (UGC-NET), Pranjal Verma (DBT-JRF, CSIR-JRF), Jatin Sharma (UGC-NET, GATE), Aditya Sharma (UGC-JRF), Salim SK (DBT-JRF, GATE).

Hema Bhardwaj, Amit Kumar Pramanik, Prity Chaterjee, Preeti Dobriyal, Vaishnavi Soni, Kirti Garg and Avinash Upadhyaya have cleared Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

The students will get financial support in the form of fellowships amounting to Rs 37,000 per month and would soon join various institutes all over India to pursue their PhD courses. Biotechnology Department Chairman SS Kanwar said, “We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding performance in the national scholarship exam.
