Following the incident, police launched an investigation. Drivers' blood samples were preserved for testing, and Medico-Legal Certificates (MLCs) were issued for the injured. Bir Bahadur, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kangra, stated that a preliminary probe revealed the bus driver was driving negligibly and had entered the wrong lane while overtaking.

“Based on our findings, a case has been registered against the bus driver under Sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway,” Bahadur said.
