The career counselling and placement cell of Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Government College organised a placement camp for its students. Netra Meti, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Palampur, who inaugurated the event, emphasised the importance of such initiatives for creating meaningful employment and inspiring the youth to become self-reliant and career-oriented.
Principal Pankaj Sood highlighted the institution’s steadfast commitment to blending quality education with strong employment prospects. Reflecting on the event’s success, Dr Shailja Vasudeva, convener and organising secretary, noted that the participation of 27 reputed companies, including giants like HCLTech, HDB Financial Services, and Flipkart, underscored the high competence of the students and the credibility of the college.
The fair saw a massive turnout of 520 participants, including students from the host institution and cluster colleges in Baijnath, Jaisinghpur, Naura and Thural. Following rigorous interview rounds, a total of 184 students secured placements. Among the 150 successful candidates from the host college, Flipkart Warehouse recruited 18, while Card Expertise India Pvt Ltd took 13, and VS Global selected 12. Other significant recruiters included Airtel Payments Bank (11), LIC (10), Theon Pharma (10) and Usabh Nursing (10). Furthermore, 34 students from neighbouring cluster colleges also received job offers.
