Two policemen have been suspended while a Home Guard jawan has been sent back to his battalion for their alleged involvement in the thrashing of Surinder Kumar at Bharmour police station along with two-three local residents.
Chamba SP Arul Kumar said Surinder had lodged a complaint alleging that he was called to the police station on September 1 with regard to an assault on a child at the Chaurasi temple. Surinder alleged that he was allegedly thrashed by three local residents and the policemen.
An inquiry conducted by Chamba DSP Ajay Kumar found the allegations to be correct. Two police personnel have been suspended and sent to the Police Lines while a Home Guard jawan has been sent back to his battalion. A departmental inquiry has been ordered against the policemen. — OC
