The award, which serves as a prerequisite for the national level ‘Rashtrapati Puraskar’, aims to foster self-confidence and a sense of responsibility towards the nation. in scouting skills, complete training and perform 36 hours of community service in specialised testing camps. The award also offers the recipients significant benefits, including grace marks in academics. Students earn specific proficiency badges, complete 12 months of service and pass a state-level testing camp to qualify, as per the guidelines of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
According to Rahul Dev Kaushal, principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Khanni, and Amreek Singh, officiating principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Baduhi, the selection of girl students from their schools for the state award of the Bharat Scouts and Guides is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for their educational institutions, students and their parents. They said that the awards would be conferred on the students at a state-level function to be held in the near future.
