Nurpur: The police on Wednesday solved the murder case of a minor shepherd (15), whose body was recovered from a forest near Sahora village in Indora subdivision last evening. The victim, Illias Mohammad, had gone to the forest for grazing sheep and was allegedly murdered by two persons belonging to his community with a sickle. The accused also snatched his new mobile phone. Yakub Deen of Thohra Bhaloon and Yakub of Ghandrah in Indora have been arrested. OC


1.23 kg charas seized, 2 held

Chamba: The police have seized 1.232 kg of charas from two persons in the district in the past 24 hours, Chamba SP Arul Kumar said here on Wednesday. The accused were arrested under Section 20 of the NDPS Act. The SP said that Yakub (31) was nabbed with 802 grams of charas near Pathani Mor under Tissa police station. In another incident, 430 grams of charas was recovered from Chattar Singh (40) near the Thai nullah under Khairi police station, he added. OC


15 booked for forgery at Jawali

Nurpur: The Jawali police have registered a forgery case against 15 persons for allegedly selling land belonging to Ajay Kumar. The complainant stated that his mother Sunita Devi, who died in July 2014, had some land at Kotla. The accused through a criminal conspiracy sold the land with a woman impersonating as his mother before the Executive Magistrate on May 8, 2018. DSP Sidharth Sharma said after preliminary investigation, a case was registered. OC
