Shimla, October 17
Two children aged two and three years were killed while eight others were injured when a truck fell into a gorge near Maipul on the Maipul-Sainj-Chaila road in Theog subdivision of Shimla district late last evening.
The ill-fated vehicle was loaded with bricks and was carrying eight labourers and two kids to Gumma in Kotkhai from Chandigarh.
The police said the driver lost control over the truck while climbing a steep stretch and it fell into a gorge.
The deceased were identified as Dolly (2) and Vijay (3). Four of the critically injured were referred to the IGMC. A case has been registered against the driver. — TNS
