At least two persons were killed when a private car rolled down a 500-feet-deep gorge near the paragliding takeoff point at Billing, around 50 km from here, late last night.
Police sources said two boys from Malnoo and Naina Devi areas near Palampur had gone to Billing on a trip. While returning to Baijnath, the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a sharp curve, causing the vehicle to plunge into the deep gorge. Both occupants died on the spot.
The police were alerted this morning when a local resident informed them about the accident. A team from the Bir police station reached the spot and found the two victims dead inside the vehicle.
