Kargil martyr Havildar Surinder Singh’s widow Veena Devi (52), a resident of Dann area in Jawali, has been running from pillar to post for the allotment of an LPG agency as promised to the family after her husband’s martyrdom on July 20, 1999.
“The then CM (PK Dhumal) had announced an LPG agency for the family, naming of the local ITI after the martyr and erecting a memorial gate at Keharian Chowk in Jawali. Barring the re-naming of the ITI, no other promise has been kept so far.”
