Union Minister Anurag Thakur today addressed a public gathering in ward number 10 of Una city under the 'Gaon Chalo' campaign of the BJP. Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti accompanied him.

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag said 25 crore persons were brought above poverty level during the last 10 years of the Narendra Modi government in the country. He said the last 10 years of the BJP rule in the country had brought economic prosperity to the nation. The country had not only progressed on domestic front, but its image had improved globally.

The Union minister said the campaign was aimed at propagating the development programmes and public welfare schemes initiated by the Narendra Modi government for the general masses. He elaborated on Ayushman and Ujjwala schemes, besides distribution of free ration to crores of people during the pandemic. He said India emerged a major exporter of Covid vaccine in the world.

Anurag said India had taken giant leap in the field of defence, adding that the 'Make in India' campaign had helped reduce import of many items.

The Union minister later paid obeisance at Baba Bal Ashram and Radha Krishna temple located in Kotla Kalan village near Una city. He participated in the religious ceremonies at the temple.
