26 injured as tourist bus falls into gorge near Swarghat

SHIMLA: As many as 26 persons were injured, eight of them seriously when a private delux bus rolled 50-feet down at Gara Mor on Kirathpur Manali National Highway near Swarghat in Bilaspur district on Tuesday morning.

As many as 26 persons were injured, eight of them seriously when a private delux bus rolled 50-feet down at Gara Mor on Kirathpur Manali National Highway near Swarghat in Bilaspur district on Tuesday morning.

The bus with over 40 persons aboard was on its way to Chandigarh from Manali when the accident took place.

Eight seriously injured persons were rushed to Nalagarh hospital and referred to PGI Chandigarh. The accident took place around 4.30 am.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver was feeling drowsy, which caused the accident, police said.

The rescue operations were hampered due to heavy rains.
