As many as 260 Covid cases were reported in the state today, taking the tally to 281,433. Besides, three persons died of the virus in Mandi district. The highest number of 77 cases was recorded in Kangra, followed by 32 in Shimla, 29 in Hamirpur, 27 in Mandi, 26 in Chamba, 20 in Bilaspur, 15 in Solan, 11 in Sirmaur, eight in Kullu, seven each in Kinnaur and Una, and one of Lahaul and Spiti. The number of active cases declined to 2,246.

Meanwhile, following a significant fall in active Covid cases, the hospitalisation rate, too, has dropped.

According to a government spokesperson, on February 15, only 118 patients were admitted to Covid-dedicated institutions. Of these, 77 patients were on oxygen and one on ventilator.

He said of the total admissions during the third wave, only 0.8 per cent patients required ICU/ventilators.
