Shimla, September 19
The state witnessed some relief in the Covid surge as 286 cases were registered in the state today, taking the total tally to 11,908. Besides, five deaths from coronavirus were also reported.
In the last 24 hours, one death each was reported in Shimla, Kangra, Kullu, Una and Chamba districts.
The highest number of 58 cases were reported in Solan, followed by 52 in Kangra, 33 in Shimla, 30 in Bilaspur, 29 in Sirmaur, 24 in Mandi, 20 in Una, 16 in Hamirpur, 14 in Chamba, 10 in Kullu and one in Kinnaur. The number of active cases in the state stood at 4,308.
58 cases in Solan
Fifty-eight persons, including four frontline workers and three expectant mothers, tested positive for Covid in Solan district on Saturday. Sixteen cases were reported in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh belt alone, said Medical Officer, Solan, Dr NK Gupta.
3 kids test +ve in Sirmaur
Twenty-nine persons, including two policemen, were found infected with coronavirus in Sirmaur district. Three children were also among those who tested positive, said Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi.
2 deaths in Kangra
Two persons died of coronavirus at Tanda medical college in Kangra on Saturday. A 65-year-old woman from Ajhu village in Jogindernagar of Mandi district and a 63-year-old man from Heera Nagar Colony in Amb town of Una district succumbed to the virus. Meanwhile, 52 Covid cases were detected in the district.
