Mandi, July 5
Three persons were killed and one suffered serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident near Khaliyar on Pathankot-Mandi highway this morning.
According to the police, a tipper collided with an under-construction retaining wall, resulting in the death of three persons on the spot.
The injured person was shifted to the Zonal Hospital in Mandi.
The victims are Rishav Kaushik of Mandi, Gurchain Singh Chani of Punjab and Vinod Kumar of Bihar. The injured victim is Naveen Kumar of Mandi.
SP Shalini Agnihotri said at the time of accident, five persons were in the vehicle. The driver Prem Sagar of Mandi escaped unhurt and had been arrested.
“A case has been registered and investigation is under way. The victims were labourers” said the SP.
