Dharamsala, June 3

A 34-year-old South Korean tourist on Wednesday morning landed in Dharamsala looking for her friend who she claimed was stuck in McLeodganj since the corona lockdown was implemented in India.

Having reached the scenic town on SpiceJet flight from Delhi, the tourist, however, had the local authorities in a fix as they were left scouting for a suitable accommodation for the South Korean as all hotels were closed owing to the Covid outbreak.

She was finally housed at the Dharamsala Circuit House and the district authorities have been trying to locate her friend. The South Korean would be sent back to Delhi tomorrow—with or without her friend.

Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Parjapati said SpiceJet had been requested for a return ticket for the South Korean tourist.

Many South Koreans visit Dharamsala because of the Dalai Lama. Several of them come here to study Tibetan Buddhism and for tracking in Dhauladhar mountains.
