3rd accused arrested in Mandi hotel death case

One of them, Avneep Guleria of Dagar village in Mandi district, allegedly left his companion Rohit Kashyap locked inside the hotel room without informing anyone. Rohit, a resident of Hawan in Ghumarwin tehsil of Bilaspur district, was later found dead on November 27. Based on this, the police registered a case and added Section 105 of the BNS during the investigation.
The police subsequently arrested Avneep Guleria along with his associate Ankush, son of Pawan Kumar from Panjeti village in Mandi district. The court initially granted police custody of both accused until December 1. After being produced before the court yesterday, both were remanded to judicial custody until December 12.
In a major development, police yesterday arrested the third accused, Rahul, a resident of Talayahad in Sadar tehsil, who had been absconding since the incident.
Confirming the report, Mandi SP Sakshi Verma said accused Rahul was produced before the court today, where from he was sent on three-day police remand.
The SP said further investigation in the case is underway. According to the SP, all legal procedures are being followed and efforts continue to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the death.
