4 liquor vends reallotted

UNA, SEPTEMBER 11

The Excise and Taxation Department today held draws for re-allotment of four liquor vends of Una district whose lessees were found guilty of evading excise duty.

While the matter pertaining to submission of forged papers is being investigated by the Vigilance, the four vends were sealed on September 6 after cancelling the licences of two contractors.

The four vends in Jhalera, Rakkar, Sanoli and Udaipur villages fetch Rs 2,24,57,969 to the government.

Meanwhile, the Vigilance questioned liquor contractors Harpriya Manhas and Rohit Kumar. — OC
