50 CISF personnel, 200 students take part in drug awareness rally at Pandoh

The CISF Unit (BSLP), Sundernagar-Pandoh, organised an anti-drug awareness rally in Mandi at 10 am on Monday. Fifty CISF personnel and 200 students of Noble College and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pandoh, took part in the rally. The atmosphere reverberated with powerful slogans such as “Quit Drugs, Choose Life” and “Awake Youth, Reject Drugs,” spreading a strong message of awareness throughout the area.

The rally commenced from Siyogi and concluded at the Pandoh Bus Stand. It drew the attention of local residents, who warmly welcomed the initiative and appreciated the CISF’s proactive efforts. The students carried banners and placards highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and appealed to the public to stay away from narcotics.

CISF Deputy Commandant Vishal Bansal said that drug addiction not only destroyed individuals but also weakened families and society as a whole. He urged the youth to stay fit, participate in sports and adopt a positive mindset.

He said that along with safeguarding vital installations, ensuring a healthy and secure society was also the responsibility of the CISF. Noble College principal Preet Kiran and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya vice-principal Dinesh Sharma highlighted the severe consequences of drug abuse and called upon students to remain vigilant and responsible. A street play performed by trainee students of Noble College left a deep impact on the audience, delivering a compelling anti-drug message.

Assistant Commandant, CISF, Deepak Joshi and Pandoh Dam in-charge Ashok Takshak took part in the rally. The event sent out a strong message that a drug-free Pandoh was achievable if security forces and the community work together with determination.

Local residents expressed hope that such awareness programmes would continue regularly to build a healthier and drug-free society in Pandoh.
