Charan Singh (52), a resident of Dharot village in Solan, allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself at his room yesterday. The Dharot gram panchayat pradhan informed the police about the incident, with the police reaching the spot to examine the incident.

Singh was found hanging from a hook in his room.

His body was thoroughly inspected in the presence of his family members, and no injury or scratch marks were found by the police.

During police verification, it was found that he had two brothers and three sisters. He was not married, and all three brothers lived separately. He was addicted to alcohol.

On Sunday evening, standing outside his house in an inebriated state, Singh told his younger brother that they would now meet him in the next life, and he would not be there tomorrow. Since he frequently made such statements under the influence of alcohol, nobody took him seriously. The postmortem was conducted today at Regional Hospital, Solan, according to Solan SP Gaurav Singh.
