60 teachers sensitised to gender equality, dignity at Army Public School

As many as 60 teachers participated in a capacity building programme on gender sensitisation organised by Army Public School, Yol, on Saturday. Resource persons Jagdeep Singh and Swati Kalra, both from GAV Public School, Kangra, conducted the session. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples and activities, they highlighted the importance of gender equality, dignity and inclusion in society.

The speakers focused on identifying unconscious biases and discriminatory practices, while suggesting practical ways to address them in everyday life and within classrooms. Special emphasis was laid on understanding the experiences of the transgender community, helping the participants develop empathy and sensitivity.

The teachers were also encouraged to reflect on their behaviour, communication and teaching practices to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Principal Arjun Singh lauded the initiative and appreciated the active participation of teachers.
