Shimla, April 24

Himachal government late on Friday made it mandatory for all those returning to the state to remain in one-week home quarantine or else enter with RTPCR negative report.

Himachal on Friday recorded the highest ever 26 deaths in a single day since the outbreak of Covid, last year.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in a video message appealed to the people to cooperate in the fight against Covid.  He said those returning home should inform the urban body or Panchayati representatives about their return home. He added that the health staff will guide and assist all such people under home isolation regarding testing and medication.

Thakur expressed concern over the worrisome situation with an average of almost 1,500 cases being reported daily.  He said all precautionary measures must be taken to ensure that the situation does not go out of hand.
